When you put an eclectic group of developers in a room – each with their own skill sets, their own projects and their own flair for workflow, there's sure to be a lively bunch. Enter Code Hat Labs. The idea for this crew is simple: Build a collaborative workspace, share ideas and resources, and let them do their thing. Code Hat Labs needed a visual brand that was fun, energetic and even a bit quirky. It also had to clearly communicate what they are all about: A team of developers who wear multiple hats.
A literal approach isn't ever a bad thing, but the execution should still be unique. Color, form and message all embodied the fun persona of this brand. Flat design, a slightly muted color palette, and custom type all went into enhancing the look. The primary mark was illustrated to show character and yet work well in any digital environment. The secondary marks were designed with the intention of differentiating the varied personalities and skills within these code heads.
